Updates 7 June 2023
This list details the changes users can expect in the upcoming SLS Release 19, which will be rolled out on 7 June 2023. Please note that SLS will be unavailable from 6 June 00:00 to 7 June 23:00 to facilitate this release.
Features for All Users
Slider in MCQ & Poll in Lessons
Users are able to select their options via a Slider in MCQ & Poll in lessons.
Users are able to view their options in a Slider in MCQ & Poll in Print-Friendly View
Pinned Class Groups
Users are able to access their pinned Class Groups (up to 12) from the left navigation menu.
Card Revamp
SLS Resource Cards are revamped to ensure better information display and ease of use.
Resources Details subpage UI
Improvement on the UI to ensure information display is consistent across different resource subpages.

Planner
This feature aims to provide an alternative method for users to organise their tasks (e.g assignments) and resources within SLS based on time and events (e.g school periods).
Users are able to create and manage their events onto their planner and set recurring events.
Users are also able to attach Tasks and Resources to the events.
Teachers are able to import events into their calendar.
Carousel In Global Search
Resources are arranged in carousel shelves to improve browsing experience
Generalising File Upload UI
Users can experience an improved and generalised file upload flow.
Users can preview image before uploading.
Notification/Announcement Improvements
Users can find Announcements, subsumed under Notifications, and displayed in a single-listing.
Users will be able to flag Announcements and mark Announcements as read or unread.
Users can view all Class Group notifications and announcements in the Class Group Notification tab.
Teachers can send announcements to selected students across different Class Groups.
Introduction of “For Me” and “Created By Me” to represent inbox (recipient) and outbox (sender) for Teachers.
Users can receive notifications via email.
Users can turn on and off email notifications for selected SLS notification categories.
Improvement of design of the SLS email template.
Class Forum Enhancement
Teacher is able to create multiple Forum Topic for each class group.
Only Owners/Co-Teachers can create/edit/delete Forum Topic.
Owners/Co-Teachers can manage Forum and Topic settings to grant Students and Observers permission to
create posts under Forum Topics

Discussion Topic in Lesson
Teacher is able to create discussion topics in the lesson via the component bar.
Both Teachers and Students can create/edit/delete posts and add comments to posts in a discussion topic.
Teacher is able to monitor class participation by checking on the number of posts created per students.
Different responsive size for FRQ prepopulated answer response box + full screen for rich text editor
Teachers can set an approximate response size (small, medium, large) for Free-Response Questions.
Teachers and students can expand the rich-text editor input field to full screen.
Self-Study Learning Progress
Students can view their combined Learning Progress across all Assignments and Self-Study tasks attempted at the selected Subject and Level.
Teachers can track self-study Learning Progress of their students in their Class Groups.
Teachers can view
Entire Class Group’s self-study performance (including content mastery for ALS) for the subject and level taught by the teacher.
Resources attempted by the individual students in the Class Group for the subject and level taught by the teacher.

Concept Map in Learning Progress
Teachers can view Class Group’s ALS concept map in Learning Progress.
Students are able to view the ALS mastery in the selected Subject & Level in Learning Progress.
Student Tooltip and Notes
Teachers are able to create a student tooltip with Title and Body.
Student can create an annotation directly from the tooltip.
ITT, Poll & Forum Improvements
Teachers are able to display ITT, Poll & Discussion responses in a Team Activity by Activity Teams or as an entire Class Group.

User logging in through MIMS are no longer required to reset SLS password if it has expired
Features for Teachers
Manage students in class groups originating from School Cockpit
Teachers and co-teachers are able to add and remove Students in SC class groups.
Add Observer into class groups
Teachers are able to add other teachers as observers to allow them to access the class group, its assignment and its resources with view-only rights.
Hide Section and Activity number
Teachers are able to hide system generated Section and Activity numbers when creating a lesson.
Teachers can customise preferred Section and Activity number by editing its title.
Managing Whitelist Websites
App Admin are able to browse, create, edit, delete and disable whitelisted websites.
Teachers are able to browse and search for Whitelisted Websites via Global Search.
Teachers can browse for Whitelisted Websites to embed into their lessons.
Download CCPM Report via Learning Record Store (LRS)
CAs are able to generate “Lesson Utilisation Report” for MOE Library Lessons.
Data Analytics
SLS can track key user actions using xAPIs and store the information into a Learning Record Store for data analytics.

Enhanced Lesson Authoring
Teachers can experience a quicker way to edit and save lesson components, especially nested lesson components (e.g. MPQ, Rubric), during lesson authoring.
Teachers will be able to click anywhere
within the component to edit the component, or
outside the component to save the component.
Component Bar
Teachers will see a persistent enhanced component bar during lesson editor.
Teachers can
apply presets (e.g. file submission FRQ, speech evaluation ARQ) from the component bar, and
access up to 3 last-used components from the component bar.
Activity-Lesson-Course (ALC)
Teachers can convert single-activity lessons to multi-section lessons easily when authoring lessons.
Teachers no longer need to choose between Lesson or Course during Lesson Authoring.
Teachers can hide or display Lesson Introduction and Section cover page if the Lesson contains a single activity.
Teachers can add a new activity, quiz or section cover page with a single “Add new” button.
Dynamic Link
Teachers can create internal links to an activity or quiz within the same lesson.
Link created will be dynamic and will automatically be updated when
Activity number and title is updated, or
Lesson is duplicated or assigned.
Multi-Part Question (MPQ) Improvement
Teachers can search for multi-part questions within Global Search.
Teachers can add whole or part of existing MPQs from Global Search into their Lessons.
Teachers can reorder same-level components within MPQ.
Approve/Unpublish MO
Content Approver can approve, unpublish and delete Media Objects (MO) from Resource Management System (RMS).
Teacher Student Account Improvements
Content Approvers/Officers can publish MOE Library Lesson that are accessible by Teacher-Student accounts only to support Professional Development.
Teacher-Student accounts now inherit the teachers’ “level of learning” from levels they teach to allow Teacher-Student to experience features relating to their “level of learning”

Answer As Team
Teachers can set an activity or quiz as a Team Activity or manage Differentiated Access under Activity Access in Assignment Settings.
Components within a Team Activity will support team-based interaction.
Responses for questions (MCQ/MRQ, FITB, CND, EEQ, FRQ, ARQ, MPQ) will be shared across the team and only one student can edit the response at any one time.
Responses for interactives (Poll, ITT, Discussion) are individualised and students can only view responses in their teams by default.
Differentiated access can be set at an individual level.
Enhance Community Gallery Approval Workflow
CG and ALP Admins can now better manage lessons submitted to the Community Gallery with improved workflow, aligned to that in MOE Library.
CG and ALP Admins will be able to
search for lessons using keyword search and filters, and
view additional information (e.g. Subject and Level) on lesson listing.
ALP admin will be able to view, edit, delete and resubmit rejected lessons.
Teacher will be automatically added as a contributor of the Lesson when they submit the Lesson to the Community Gallery.
MCQ/MRQ with no correct answer
Teachers can set MCQ/MRQ with no correct answer as survey items.
Expand/Collapse Aggregate Student Response
Teacher is able to view full FRQ and ARQ responses of the entire class in “View All Responses” view by expanding all responses.
Show prepopulated answer in Print-friendly of FRQ and ITT
Users are now able to view prepopulated answer in Print-friendly View.
Paginated Activity
Teacher is able to create multi-page activities, similar to quizzes, using page-breaks in the component bar.
Teachers are able to move components across pages and break continuous components into pages.
Page navigation bar will appear on top of the page when new page is added in an activity.
Teachers can now add empty pages in both activities and quizzes.
MOE Library and Community Gallery 2-way communication
Admins are able to communicate with owners of submitted lessons via Admin Reviews during the approval process.
MOE Library - Communication between CA and CO
Community Gallery - Communication between CG Admin & Teachers
Teachers are able to leave reviews for published MOE Library and Community Gallery lessons.
Split assignment when more than 100 students in Class Group
Teachers can choose to split an assignment into multiple identical assignments by subgroups or by form class.
Teachers have to split an assignment with more than 100 assignees for ideal monitoring experience.
Teacher-Student account can edit profile
Teachers can edit profile on their teacher-student account. Teachers can
customise their avatar,
set email notification, and
link Google account.
Improvements
Teachers can download individual CSV files of questions from their assignments.
Teachers can import images into options via QTI.
New RMS printable flag and reference subject code for mass upload job.
Features for Students
ALS View All Topics Improvement
Students are able to access sub topics from their past levels of learning and the next level of learning. This allows students to explore content beyond their current level of learning and revise content from their previous levels.
Self Study List
Students can keep track of lessons they attempted for Self-Study from MOE Library, Class Group Resources and My Drive.
Students can remove self-study tasks that are no longer relevant.
Answer as Team
Students can mark team activities and quizzes as complete for the entire team.
Students can create notes and annotations that are viewable by the entire team in team activities.
Students can view ITT, Poll and Discussion responses in their teams.
Improvements
An additional option is added on the right menu within a lesson for students to reattempt the lesson.
ITT and Poll will no longer contribute to activity completion for both team and non-team activity
