Learn how to mark activities and quizzes as optional, so students can choose their own path through an assignment.
(A1) Set Optional Activities & Quizzes
Optional Activities/Quizzes can include content that:
scaffolds/challenges students’ learning.
gives students choices between different learning approaches.
allows students to exercise agency, e.g. using Gamification.
These Activities/Quizzes do not need to be completed for the Assignment to be Marked As Complete.
Set Optional Activities & Quizzes
Enter the Module Editor page.
Select an Activity/Quiz from the Simplified Module Plan (collapsed).
On the Activity/Quiz Cover, adjust the Optional Toggle.
Alternatively, click the Expand Activity List icon to open the Expanded Module Plan. Click the Overflow (3-dot icon) of an Activity/Quiz and select Set As Optional.
Click the Module Plan icon, followed by the Overflow (3-dot icon) of an Activity/Quiz and select Set As Optional.
Note: Optional Activities/Quizzes are indicated with in the Simplified Module Plan.
