This page provides guidance and support to schools on the implementation of e-School-Based Assessments (e-SBAs) in SLS
e-SBA on SLS
Affordances of digital assessment are developing rapidly in tandem with technological advances, bringing new possibilities to both formative and summative assessments. Digital assessments can be harnessed to enrich assessment and feedback experiences for students in ways not readily achievable through pen-and-paper assessment. For instance, AI-enabled feedback in SLS can provide pedagogically aligned and motivating feedback through teacher-over-the-loop (instant feedback which is aligned to the teacher's mark scheme) or teacher-in-the-loop (edited by the teacher) to feed forward students' learning.
SLS, as our core teaching and learning platform, continuously enhances technology-enabled learning experiences, including digital assessments.

Conduct of e-SBA via SLS

At the Primary level, schools should continue to prioritise age-appropriate, tactile learning experiences like print-based reading and hands-on activities.
For subjects with a National E-Examination Component at the Secondary and JCs/MI, schools may refer to the notification (intranet) (opens in new tab) (published on 10 October 2023) on the policy guidelines and key considerations for e-SBA.
Specimen e-SBA papers for teachers’ adaptation
