AI–enabled Features
Before using AI-enabled features in SLS, you are encouraged to have students complete the Basic Modules for AI and AI-enabled features in SLS in the following links:
Adaptive Learning System
The ALS provides a personalised learning pathway for each student. It is currently available for Mathematics (Upper Primary and Lower Secondary) and Geography (Upper Secondary). More topics, levels and subjects will be added progressively.
How does ALS enhance teaching and learning?
Provides differentiation
by recommending learning modes, resources, practice questions and offering immediate feedback based on students’ readiness.
Enables self-directed learning
where students can access ALS on their own to learn. They can set targets and ALS offers encouraging messages to motivate them based on their responses to questions.
Supports monitoring of progress
through the Learning Progress Dashboard which provides teachers with a summary of students’ concept mastery to inform their interventions which will help them close students' learning gaps.

Authoring Copilot
ACP is an AI-enabled feature in SLS that supports lesson planning for all subjects and levels by generating a module and its corresponding sections, activities and components based on a teacher's inputs.
How does ACP enhance teaching and learning?
Recommends curriculum- and pedagogically-aligned activities
Suggests lesson activities and assessment items based on tagged learning outcomes on the content map and pedagogical considerations listed by the teacher.
Autogenerates components
Creates suitable components and suggested activities, providing teachers with a more accessible way to use SLS authoring features.
Anchors to a Knowledge Base
Generates more customised lesson activities and assessment items by anchoring on a Knowledge Base that is appended by the teacher.

Annotated Feedback Assistant
Annotated Feedback Assistant (AFA) provides students with targeted feedback embedded within their responses via annotation cards, based on suggested answers, rubrics, or error tags. It provides students with more specific feedback and can be used across different subjects.
How does AFA enhance teaching and learning?

Data Assistant
Data Assistant (DAT) allows teachers to use natural language to query and speed up the process of qualitative analysis of students’ responses, saving teachers’ time and effort, and allow for more timely intervention.
How does DAT enhance teaching and learning?
Provides pre-populated recipes for teachers to choose from
Teachers will be given the option to either select a ‘recipe’ or to input their own instructions to DAT to analyse student responses.
Supports evidence-based teaching and learning
Group students’ responses into themes, highlight common misconceptions or identify students who may require more help.
Suggests follow up actions for teachers
Based on results generated, suggest timely interventions such as filtering responses that meet a specific criteria, append autogenerated comments across students.

Learning Assistant (LEA) is a student-facing* dialogic agent on SLS, which serves to guide students’ learning via iterative questioning.
How does LEA enhance teaching and learning?

Teachers can set interaction limits on LEA to reduce over-reliance by students, and access students’ conversation logs for real-time insights.
Personalised and Immediate Learning Support for Students
LEA provides students with timely and contextual responses based on curated learning materials in the knowledge base, reinforcing understanding and enabling self-directed learning.
Enhanced Engagement with Role-based Interactions
LEA can take on different roles with pre-populated recipes, making conversations more immersive and engaging, hence enhancing student engagement.

Feedback Assistant - Mathematics
FA-Math is a rules-based engine that offers step-by-step hints and feedback to students’ workings, and suggested marks. It can generate randomised questions and support many question types including for geometry and graphs.
How does FA-Math enhance teaching and learning?
Provides line-by-line hints and feedback
by analysing each step of a student’s working and offering customised hints and feedback.
Supports authoring of different question types
by allowing teachers to design a diverse range of question types for students to demonstrate understanding and reinforce learning.
Redirects time to other T&L activities
by allowing teachers to spend more time with students and provide targeted support to advance learning, with its ability to generate questions with randomised variables and automate grading and provision of hints and feedback.

Short Answer Feedback Assistant
Short Answer Feedback Assistant (SAFA) provides suggested marks and auto-generated feedback for free-response questions for any subject and level.
How does SAFA enhance teaching and learning?
Provides feedback on a variety of responses
Generates marks and first draft of comments for students’ response based on the suggested mark scheme, which teachers can edit and build on.
Applies to any subject* and level
Can be used for close-ended, short answer questions with well-defined mark schemes.
*ShortAnsFA should not be used for questions involving mathematical computation as it is unable to provide accurate feedback for mathematical concepts.

by allowing teachers to spend less time on giving feedback, thereby enabling them to spend more time with students and provide more complex guidance to advance learning.

Speech Evaluation Tool (SET) provides instant, automated feedback on pronunciation, reading fluency, and speech clarity to help students improve their speaking abilities for English and Mother Tongue Languages.
How does SET enhance teaching and learning?

Can be used for English Language, Mother Tongue Languages across levels, to help students improve their speech delivery and articulation.
