(E1,iv) About Adaptive Learning System (ALS)

The Adaptive Learning System (ALS) provides a personalised learning pathway for each student, recommending learning resources and practice questions and offering immediate feedback based on his/her readiness. Students can access the ALS through the Student Learning Space (SLS) for self-directed learning. With the ALS, students learn independently, at their own pace, according to their strengths and needs.

Teachers are able to use Student View to experience ALS as a student. Open the right menu and click Switch to Student Account.

About Adaptive Learning System (ALS)

Teachers can now access ALS as a student would by following the steps in the Access Adaptive Learning System (ALS) page replicated below.

  1. Open the left menu from the header at the homepage and click Resources, followed by Adaptive Learning.
  2. Access to Adaptive Learning is based on level and subject. Currently, it is only available for Primary 5 and 6 Mathematics.

  3. When students first access the ALS, they will be presented with some questions for the system to understand their learning profile and goals. Students will be prompted to complete the questions again at the start of each week to capture their weekly Learning Goals. These goals can be set and edited on the main Adaptive Learning page.

  4. Every subject will be organised on a shelf. Students can easily track their learning progress for a topic using the progress bar on the Topic cards.

  5. After selecting a Topic/Subtopic, ALS will provide 3 learning modes for each Topic/Subtopic. The learning mode best suited to the student’s learning profile will be labelled with a ‘Recommended’ tag.

  6. At the end of the session, students can view their own learning progress and decide what topics to learn next.
