(A2,16) Insert Transcript for Video & Audio
You can transcribe videos and audio files, providing versatility in reading materials and enhancing accessibility for students with diverse learning needs.
You can view and edit the transcript generated. You can also regenerate the transcript.
Students can view the video with captions/audio with transcript if it is enabled.
The transcript will be highlighted and anchored to the timestamp as the audio plays.
Generate Transcript for Video/Audio
Click the Add Media icon and choose Upload File.
Click on the Settings icon .
Click View and Edit Transcript.
Click Generate Transcript.
You may edit the transcript, regenerate transcript and click Save when done. Click Back to Audio/Video Settings.
Check the box next to Show Transcript and caption (for video)/Show Transcript (for audio) to allow for students’ viewing.
Once done, click Save to proceed.
The entire transcript will be shown with timestamps. Clicking on the specific lines in the transcript will take you to the corresponding timestamp in the video.
Possible Reasons for Transcription Error
Video/audio file uploaded has no verbal audio.
Transcription service returns an error.
No error returned from transcription service, but it returns an empty transcript.
If you encounter any of the issues above, you can check the file for errors and resubmit it.
Did You Know:
You can generate transcripts in 4 languages; EL, CL, ML and TL.
You can generate transcripts for video/audio when using Split-page Media.
You cannot create transcripts for videos/audios in MOE Library due to IP restrictions.
Students can view transcripts/captions within the restricted start and end time.
