SLS Login with Edupass
Information and FAQs to support schools with SLS login changes from 3 December 2026.
Frequently asked questions for schools
From 3 December 2026, Edupass is the main login option for SLS. Existing users do not need a new account or a password reset just because of this change. Login with SLS remains available for the time being.
Please check for updates: Login, password recovery and school support processes may change during the transition. The MIMS support arrangements described below are interim arrangements. Schools should check the latest communications from the Edupass team in MOE’s Digital Excellence Division (DXD) and the Edupass portal (opens in new tab) for updated instructions.
Getting started
1. What has changed on the SLS login page?
Login with Edupass is now the main option. Select it and follow the instructions on screen.
Login with SLS remains available as a backup through a link on the same page.
2. Which username and password should existing users use to log in to SLS from 3 December 2026?
Teachers can refer to https://go.gov.sg/slsedupass2026 (opens in new tab) that was featured on ETDtoGO (13 Oct 2026)
Username:
Users with existing MIMS accounts should use their Edupass username, which is the same as their existing MIMS ID.
Users whose previous SLS IDs contained partial NRIC characters will now use their Edupass username for both Login with Edupass and login with SLS.
Users with SLS IDs beginning with SLS- that do not contain partial NRIC characters will continue using their existing SLS username.
Password:
Login with Edupass: Use the existing MIMS/Edupass password.
Login with SLS: Use the existing SLS password.
Important:
Existing users do not need to create a new account or reset their passwords.
The Login with Edupass and login with SLS passwords remain separate. Changing one does not change the other. There is no mass password reset associated with this transition.
Students who are unsure of their usernames or require login assistance should approach their teachers. Staff may seek assistance from their school's designated support personnel.
3. Do students need to log in using SLS credentials first before they can use Edupass to access SLS? Do students need to perform any additional steps before logging using Edupass?
No. Students can select “Login with Edupass” and use their Edupass username and password directly, even when accessing SLS for the first time.
As of June 2026, there is no need for students to first log in using their SLS credentials to activate their SLS account or set up an SLS password.
For details, refer to: https://www.learning.moe.edu.sg/admin-user-guide/administer/initiate-student-account-activation/ (opens in new tab)
4. Must students install an app or complete 2FA/MFA setup before using SLS?
No. All users can login to SLS even if they have not onboarded 2FA/MFA. Simply select Login with Edupass and key-in the Edupass username and password.
Check the Edupass portal (opens in new tab) and the latest communications to schools for the requirements that apply to students.
5. Why might a user be signed in directly at school but asked for more steps at home?
The login experience can differ depending on the device, network and sign-in method used.
For example, a school-issued device may behave differently when used at home without the school’s VPN connection. Being on a school-issued computer does not always mean that no further login steps are needed.
Users should follow the instructions on screen. For the latest device-specific guidance, refer to the Edupass portal (opens in new tab).
6. Will the administrative processes for onboarding incoming Primary 1 students in 2027 change with Edupass?
No. The existing MIMS account provisioning and school onboarding processes remain unchanged. Schools can continue with their established arrangements for incoming Primary 1 students.
Account provisioning: Edupass accounts will be automatically provisioned through MIMS by the end of 2026. Schools and parents do not need to create these accounts.
Distribution of login credentials: Schools will continue distributing Edupass usernames and initial passwords through their existing processes.
First-time login: Students do not need to activate their accounts before using Edupass to access SLS ((B3) Initiate Student Account Activation | Singapore Student Learning Space (SLS) Info-Site (opens in new tab)).
Password recovery: Students who forget their Edupass passwords can use the MIMS self-service (opens in new tab) password reset function by answering their challenge questions, with parental assistance where necessary. Students who cannot complete the recovery should approach their teachers, in accordance with existing school support procedures.
Schools should continue to follow the latest Edupass/DXD guidance for any subsequent changes.
Helping students and answering parents
7. What should teachers tell parents about the change?
Explain that their child should select Login with Edupass and use the child’s existing MIMS/Edupass details. Existing students do not need a new account or a password reset because of the transition.
Teachers are refer parents to the PG message sent by SLS on 24 November 2026. The PG message includes the following guides:
Primary school: https://go.gov.sg/sls-edupass-pri (opens in new tab)
Secondary/JC/MI: https://go.gov.sg/sls-edupass-secjcmi. (opens in new tab)
Parents should contact the child’s teacher or the school’s designated support contact if their child needs help.
Please refer to the Edupass portal (opens in new tab) for the latest login guidance.
8. A parent says their child cannot log in. What should teachers check first?
Check with the parent:
Which option did the child select: Login with Edupass or Login with SLS?
What message appeared?
Could the child enter SLS but not open the required activity?
Check that the child is using the correct username and the password for the selected option. If further help is needed, involve the school’s designated support personnel.
Teachers can continue to use the generate temporary passcode (opens in new tab) feature in SLS to allow students to access SLS. The temporary passcode allows locked accounts to login.
9. How can a student reset a forgotten Edupass password?
Under the current arrangement, go to the MIMS password recovery page (opens in new tab) and select Forgot password. The student will need to answer the challenge questions previously set up for the account. Parents may help younger students.
If the student cannot complete these steps, they should approach their teacher. The school’s appointed MIMS Student Administrator (SA) can assist with the required student account action.
This is an interim process. Check the Edupass portal (opens in new tab) and Edupass/DXD updates for changes.
10. What if the student has forgotten the challenge answers or sees “Contact your administrator”?
Ask the student or parent to contact the teacher or the school’s designated support personnel.
The school can arrange help from its appointed MIMS Student Administrator (SA). A teacher does not need to resolve every account problem personally.
Check the latest Edupass guidance before giving further recovery instructions, as the process may change.
11. What if the student has forgotten the password for Login with SLS?
Use Forgot Password (opens in new tab) on the Login with SLS page and follow the SLS recovery instructions.
If the student cannot complete the recovery, ask the school’s authorised teacher or SLS School Admin for assistance.
Resetting an SLS password does not reset the student’s Edupass password.
12. A student needs to join a lesson now but cannot remember his/her login credentials. What can teachers do?
If the student can use Login with SLS, this remains as a backup to enter SLS for the time being. The student must use their applicable SLS username and SLS password.
Where appropriate, a teacher with the required SLS Class Group permissions can generate a temporary SLS passcode (opens in new tab). Students with locked accounts can use this temporary passcode to login.
Generating temporary passcodes do not reset any passwords.
Support for teachers and school ICT personnel
13. Who helps staff, and who helps students?
Under the current interim MIMS support arrangements:
Role descriptions
Person needing help | School role |
|---|---|
Staff needing help with MIMS/Edupass passwords, accounts or access requests | MIMS Local Administrator (LA) |
Students needing help with MIMS/Edupass password resets or account unlocking | MIMS Student Administrator (SA) |
Staff or students needing help with Login with SLS password resets or account unlocking following multiple failed login attempts | SLS School Admin |
An officer may be appointed as both a MIMS Local Administrator (LA) and a MIMS Student Administrator (SA), but these are separate roles with different permissions.
Similarly, SLS School Admins can only assist with password resets for Login with SLS. They do not automatically have the permissions to manage MIMS/Edupass accounts or passwords unless they are also appointed as a MIMS LA or SA.
Students should approach their teacher or designated school support personnel first. The appointed administrator carries out the required account action.
Schools should check Edupass/DXD updates and the Edupass portal (opens in new tab) for changes to these interim arrangements.
14. How can teachers change or recover their Edupass passwords?
Under the current process:
Teachers who know their password and want to change it: use the MIMS self-service page (opens in new tab).
Teachers who have forgotten their password and use Microsoft Authenticator: select Forgot my password on the Edupass sign-in page and follow the instructions.
Teachers who have forgotten their password and do not use Microsoft Authenticator: use Forgot password on the MIMS recovery page.
Teachers who cannot complete the process should approach their school’s MIMS Local Administrator (LA) or contact the SSOE Service Desk.
Check the Edupass portal (opens in new tab) for updated recovery steps.
15. Which helpdesk should the school contact?
For Edupass login issues — SSOE Service Desk
Local: 1800 7663 663
Overseas: +65 6559 4318
Email: help@schools.gov.sg
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7am–7pm; Saturday, 7am–2pm
Staff may contact SSOE directly. Students and parents should approach the school first; the school can seek further assistance where needed.
Follow any updated support arrangements communicated by Edupass/DXD.
For SLS features, content or SLS account issues — SLS Helpdesk
Email: helpdesk@sls.ufinity.com
When seeking help, describe the login option used, the error message, when it occurred and what has already been tried.
School planning and continuity
16. What should schools focus on during the transition?
Help staff and students become familiar with the updated login page before their next planned use of SLS.
Schools should:
Explain which username and password to use.
Make the school’s support contact clear to teachers and parents.
Confirm who is appointed to support staff and student accounts.
Check access before planned lessons, home-based learning or assessments.
Follow up users who needed temporary access.
Check Edupass/DXD updates and keep school guidance current.
There is no need to reset everyone’s password just because of this transition.
17. Does Edupass affect e-assesesment or e-SBA?
The introduction of Login with Edupass does not affect existing e-Assessment/e-SBA arrangements. Schools may continue with their current e-SBA processes without changes.
18. What if Edupass is unavailable?
Login with SLS remains a backup for the time being. Select its link on the main SLS login page.
Users should use their existing SLS password. If a former SLS username contained part of an NRIC number, the Edupass username should be used for Login with SLS. Existing non-partial-NRIC SLS- usernames remain unchanged.
Check any service notices and follow the school’s arrangements if access is still unavailable.
19. What resources are available to schools to assist them with the transition to SLS login with Edupass?
Schools should assess the needs of their staff and students, taking into consideration when they will next access SLS, and plan the necessary familiarisation and support arrangements.
The following resources are available or will be provided to support schools:
