Learn how to insert media objects into your lessons on SLS, whether by uploading new files or adding existing ones from your Library or Starred Resources.
(A2,15) Insert Media Objects (Enhanced)
You can incorporate Media Objects into your Lesson. Uploaded Media Objects can be reused in future Lessons.
Only Media Objects from My Drive, Community Gallery and MOE Library are searchable in the global search bar.
You can add upload a new Media Object or add an existing one from Library/Starred Resources.
Click here to Edit Media Objects.
Upload a New Media Object
When editing the Rich Text-enabled component, click the Add Media icon and choose Upload File option.
To upload a file,
Drag and drop a file into the box; or
Click on the box and select a file through the file manager.
Click Upload when done.
The types and file sizes of Media Objects that can be uploaded into SLS can be found here.
If the file is valid, it will be uploaded and scanned for viruses.
Note:
The virus scan will take longer if the file size is large.
To view files with Augmented Reality content, a separate software may be required.
When the file is successfully uploaded, the Media Object will be added to the Lesson.
Upload a Media Object from an iOS Device
Uploads via iOS devices are supported.
However, if you encounter any errors, please ensure that you are uploading files from the Photo Library, Take Photo or Video, or Browse from Files.
Upload a Media Object from an Android Device
Uploads via Android devices are supported.
However, if you encounter any errors, please ensure that you are uploading files from the Phone Directory/ Files.
While rare, Android users might encounter problems when uploading files directly from shortcut links such as Picture, Video and Recent.
Add a Media Object from Library
Click Add Media icon and choose Add from Library.
Search and filter the Media Object that you want to add from the global search bar.
Click on the Media Object to it into the Lesson.
You may download the Media Object by clicking the Download icon (if present).
Add Starred Media Objects from Starred Resources (New)
When editing a Component that allows Rich Text, click the Add Media icon .
Click Add File from Starred Resources to add an existing Media Object.
Search for media files by entering keywords from their titles. You can then refine your search results using the "Resource Type" filter.
Once you have selected the media file, click the space outside the Component to save your edits.
