(A2,10) Add Multi-Part Questions
Add a Multi-Part Question
In the Module Editor page, hover over Question in the Component Bar.
Click Multi-Part Question.
In the Question Body field, enter the main question stem. This question stem will serve as the context for all subsequent sub-questions in this multipart question.
Click + button to add sub-questions which can be:
Note: Multi-Part Questions can be added for a maximum of two sub-levels. This will result in questions bearing the following numbering system - Q1 a.i. and 1 a.ii.
Click outside the Component to Save.
Editing Multi-Part Question Details
Fill in the optional details of the Multi-Part Question:
Marks - You may set the marks of each sub-question individually, as documented on individual questions pages.
Number of Tries - You may also set the number of tries allowed at the entire Multi-Part Question.
Note: If your Multi-Part Question contains any Free-Response Question or Audio-Response Question, the default is one try.

Note: You can also edit certain fields, such as the Suggested Answer and Feedback fields, for a Free-Response Question after the module has been assigned and students have started attempting the question in the Multi-Part Question.
From Dec 2025 Update: You can continue to edit Multi-Part Response questions even after they have been assigned or attempted by students. This allows you to correct any errors found in the question. The last edited date and time will be displayed if the assignment or resource has been modified after a student’s attempt.
