About Class Groups
Important: From Mar 2025 Update, owners and co-teachers of class groups can restore past class groups as active class groups here.
There are two types of Class Groups in SLS:
Class Groups (Class) are created using subject class and teaching group information imported from School Cockpit. Class Groups are assigned a specific colour based on the subject type e.g. green for Sciences, orange for Mathematics.
Note: If you are unable to see the Class Groups, please check with your School Cockpit administrator if you have been assigned classes/teaching groups in School Cockpit. It will take 3 to 5 days for the classes/teaching groups in School Cockpit to be reflected in SLS.
Class Groups (Group) are created by Teachers in SLS. Students and Teachers can be added to the Group. To find out more about the types of users that can be added, please see Create Class Groups and Communities.
There are 3 Class Group (Group) subtypes:
Student (Students and Teachers can be added)
Professional Development (only Teachers can be added as Students)
Staff (No Students can be added, only Teachers)
The default view of the page is the Current year's Class Groups, you can access the past years Class Groups by clicking the Past tab.
You can search for Class Groups based on the Role you are holding.
You can view all your Liaison Groups by clicking Liaison Groups. You will be assigned a Liaison Group when
you have been added to a Class Group as a Liaison teacher by another teacher.
you have been added to a Class Group as a student. You will be given a Liaison teacher role.

In all Class Groups, you will be able to access:
Class Learning Progress (If the Class Group is tagged to a Subject and Level)
Add Assignment Add Assignment and Quick Create
Assignments assigned to the Class Group
Forum that students in the Class Group can access
Admin features that can be managed
Note:
When you re-enter a Class Group, you will be on the tab that you were last on.
Class Groups that are past its expiry year, or have been archived by owners can be accessed in the Past tab.
Users can also access their past groups in the Past tab if they have been removed from the Class Groups.
Class Groups that are older than four years will be automatically archived and can no longer be accessed.
Owners and co-teachers of groups can hide the list of group members from students for better management of students’ privacy
